Most likely all people have heard that the climate is changing and that the global temperature is getting higher and higher, a process known as global warming. The idea that climate change is so severe that it could lead to the destruction of our planet is so difficult to take in that some people believe that is not real at all. They think that global warming is a global conspiracy created to keep people under control.

Nothing is changing to prove global warming – debunked

One of the most common reasons why some people think that global warming is a lie is because they cannot notice the changes caused by it. Such changes simply don’t happen fast enough for people to be aware of them.

To understand the process of global warming better, we can compare it with working out. If you start doing pushups every day and each day you do one more, after 100 days you will be much stronger than the day you started. However, you won’t be fully aware of your progress because it is gradual and it takes time. This is exactly the same when it comes to global warming. If we think about day to day changes, we cannot see much difference, but if we compare the situation to that of 50 years ago, we will see that much has changed since then.

Global warming is a diversion – debunked

There is an idea that global warming isn’t real but a fabrication created by incapable and corrupt politicians. They created this lie so that they can divert our attention from real-life problems such as poverty, unemployment, corruption, and so on.

Have they managed to do this with their ‘lie’? No, they haven’t. We are well aware of all of these problems and many more. A lot of people and organizations are already dealing with these issues. Therefore, this argument doesn’t sound very reasonable.

Global warming as a common enemy – debunked

Another theory is that all the countries in the world have agreed to create a common enemy so that people from all corners of the world could finally unite and work together. This common enemy is, of course, global warming.

This theory may sound noble, but it is obviously not true. Even though spending recourses to fight an imaginary enemy is foolish, it is still better than losing human lives in conflicts; however not every world leader values people’s lives more than money, unfortunately. After all, if all world leaders can agree to invent a common enemy, why can’t they just agree not to fight at all?

There are many conspiracy theories regarding the subject of global warming. Some of them are amusing and some of them are scary. We need to decide for ourselves what we want to believe, but before we accept any explanation, we should pay more attention to what we can see happening around us and we should do some research. Anyhow, we should definitely take better care of our planet.
